Explore Stunning Historic Homes and Fascinating Sites in Marietta and Smyrna

Join us as we partner with Cobb Landmarks for the Spring Ramble in Marietta — Georgia’s Gem City — and Smyrna, fondly known as the Jonquil City. Discover the rich architectural legacy of these cities while touring the area’s most historic private homes, lush gardens, and landmark sites — each one a reflection of the region’s enduring prosperity and charm.

On Friday and Saturday, explore stunning private residences across five National Register Historic Districts in Marietta, where beautifully restored homes reflect the city’s architectural heritage — from timeless Victorian cottages and stately Greek Revival residences to intricate Queen Anne designs and enduring Craftsman styles.

Sunday’s Ramble will showcase a rich tapestry of historic homes and sites in the never-before-Rambled city of Smyrna. First known as Ruffs Siding and later Varners Station, Smyrna is home to a remarkable collection of historic private residences and notable sites.

Ramblers will also enjoy dining at carefully selected historic sites, including the beautifully restored Whitlock Inn and Fair Oaks, home of the Marietta Educational Garden Center.

What are Rambles?

Rambles feature exclusive tours and social events in historic properties not usually open to the public. Tours of historic homes and buildings are self-guided and self-paced, and guests provide their own transportation. Maps and programs are provided at packet pick-up. You can pick and choose which sites to tour and see them in any order you like! Catered meals are offered as part of registration packages; however, there are tour-only (no meals) options as well.

These trips attract hundreds of participants per Ramble and are offered two weekends each year (fall and spring). Recent Rambles have included Augusta, Thomasville, Macon and Newnan.

For more information, contact the Trust’s Special Events Department at 404-885-7812 or SpecialEvents@GeorgiaTrust.org.

**Sites and times are subject to change. Event occurs rain or shine.
