What is a Ramble?

A Ramble is bi-annual weekend excursion planned by The Georgia Trust for our members. The Ramble consists of tours of historic properties, as well as social events such as meals and receptions. The tours are comprised of private homes, churches, courthouses, industrial sites such as mills, and other historic sites relevant to the host city’s history.

Host Responsibilities

The Georgia Trust relies on the support of hosts like you in making our Rambles a success.

  1. Have your property open from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday or 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Sunday.
  2. Provide The Georgia Trust with a brief history of your property and any architectural information that you have available.
  3. Provide The Georgia Trust with a high-res image of the exterior of your property.
  4. Many hosts prefer to have friends and family volunteer as docents for the tours. Please let the local committee know if you need assistance scheduling volunteers. Volunteers will receive one tour-only ticket to the Ramble.
  5. Provide your volunteers with information about the property. This information may be general information about the property or can be as detailed as you see fit.
