T.J. Ware House

Once a member of Historic Macon Foundation’s “Fading Five,” the T.J. Ware House is now a shining example of what can go right when a homeowner is committed to preservation. Located in the Beall’s Hill neighborhood, the 1880 Queen Anne home was originally built by a former City Alderman, Thomas Jefferson Ware, underwent an extensive rehabilitation inside and out, restoring exterior decorative detailing, windows, and interior features. This once blighted house has become a gem in the neighborhood and the city of Macon.
