Orange Hall

St. Marys - Camden County

Orange Hall is a landmark Greek Revival house and one of the most architecturally significant historic buildings in coastal Georgia. Built in the mid-19th century, the raised, temple-form house features a Doric portico, symmetrical five-bay façade and finely crafted interior details. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Orange Hall has long served as a civic and cultural anchor for the community and remains the city’s most prominent surviving example of antebellum architecture.

Threat

First listed as a Place in Peril in 2012, long-standing structural issues, including compromised floor systems and deferred maintenance, threaten Orange Hall. Although recent city leadership has expressed renewed commitment to its preservation, the building has remained closed for years and requires substantial stabilization and restoration to ensure its long-term survival.
