The House That History Misnamed: Eppinger House, Savannah
Built around 1770 by German master builder John Eppinger, this building in Savannah may have originally served as a tavern and an inn that held patriot meetings. While the house is often attributed to General Lachlan McIntosh, there is no evidence that he ever owned the house or stayed here. Nevertheless, General McIntosh was an important colonial figure and it is undisputed that he lived nearby.
