Bring your whole family to the race.

Every Halloween from 1984 to 1992, Rhodes Hall became the perfect setting for one of Atlanta’s most popular haunted houses. Today its haunted atmosphere has given way to sparkling interior and exterior details, and although Rhodes Hall won’t be dressed up as a haunted house, that doesn’t stop us from getting into the Halloween spirit (nor does it stop our resident ghost from appearing)!

This dog and stroller friendly 5K will wind through the creepy twists and ghoulish hills of one of Atlanta’s oldest and boo-tiful neighborhoods, Ansley Park. Feel free to run or walk in your best Halloween costume! Afterwards join us at the hair-raising after-party at Rhodes Hall for a costume contest, food and prizes. You can even take a self-guided tour inside our “haunted castle,” and who knows, maybe you’ll get a glimpse of our resident apparition. All fitness levels welcome!

Event takes place rain or shine.

A Peachtree Qualifier

The Rhodes Race at the Haunted Castle 5K is an AJC Peachtree Road Race Official Qualifying Event. That means you can submit your race results to the Atlanta Track Club for start wave placement in next year’s AJC Peachtree Road Race!

Here’s what’s in store:

  • Awesome t-shirt
  • Scenic course through historic Ansley Park
  • Complimentary barbecue sandwiches and treats for participants
  • Exciting hair-raising after-party
  • Costume contest
  • Great prizes
  • Complimentary self-guided tour of Rhodes Hall, Atlanta’s “Castle on Peachtree”

Strollers and dogs are welcome to join you during the race

The course is stroller and dog friendly (just as long as your pooch is well-behaved, leashed, and under your control at all times). There will be a special “pet pit stop” along the race route to provide dogs with drinking water. Participants with strollers and dogs will also have their own special start group.

Exciting post-race party with lunch and refreshments

After the race, stick around for a huge post-race party on the lawn of Rhodes Hall featuring complimentary barbecue sandwiches, refreshments and great music. All participants will receive a t-shirt. Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male/female finishers, top 3 male/female finishers in each age group, first participant with a stroller and first dog.
