Enchanting homes and gardens await your discovery at Middle Georgia’s premier house and garden event! Now in its 29th year, Spring Stroll Tour of Homes and Gardens features some of Macon’s most spectacular private gardens and residences.
Enjoy a fun-filled weekend of all things gardening in Macon!
THURSDAY, APRIL 25, 6-8 p.m.
Kick off the weekend Thursday evening at the Spring Stroll Garden Party. Mix and mingle with fellow gardening enthusiasts and flower aficionados over delightful drinks and hor d’oeuvres at Hay House, Macon’s beloved “Palace of the South.”
FRIDAY, APRIL 26, Noon
Enjoy a delectable lunch and an engaging lecture with Macon-raised Southern cooking icon Vera Stewart. Lunch and Lecture tickets include a complimentary copy of Vera’s latest book, The VeryVera Cookbook: Occasions.
SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. AND SUNDAY, APRIL 28, Noon to 5 p.m.
Get ready. Get Set. Stroll! Explore the exquisite gardens and homes of Macon’s historic Ingleside neighborhood on April 27th and 28th. Ingleside began in 1917 when the community was a 15-minute streetcar ride from downtown Macon. Much of the neighborhood follows the picturesque landscape planning prevalent in early 20th-century residential development and popularized by Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr. Large lots and winding streets lend an informal yet carefully planned feel to the community and provide a stunning backdrop for some of Macon’s most extraordinary homes and gardens.
All purchased tour tickets will be placed on will call and made available for pickup at Hay House (934 Georgia Avenue, Macon, GA 31201) on Friday and Saturday, April 26-27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, April 28, 11 to 4 p.m.
All proceeds benefit Hay House, a property of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.

Friday, April 26, Noon – VERA STEWART LUNCH AND LECTURE
Registrants of the Vera Stewart Lunch and Lecture should arrive at Hay House (934 Georgia Avenue, Macon, GA 31201) by 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Attendees can pick up their Spring Stroll tour tickets at that time.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Spring Stroll is a self-guided walking tour that takes place at private residences and may include uneven or steep terrain.
- These tours take place at private properties, rather than public spaces, and therefore are not often handicapped accessible.
- Street parking is available at or near each of the tour sites.
- Spring Stroll Tour Tickets are valid for Saturday and Sunday. There is no re-entry to gardens.
- Tours are done at your own pace and require a good amount of walking, often over uneven streets and sidewalks. Please dress comfortably and wear flat, comfortable shoes.
- Restrooms are available on the ground level of Hay House, 934 Georgia Avenue, Macon.
Event takes place rain or shine.

Behind-the-Scenes Tour
Second and Fourth Saturdays of the Month

This specialty tour provides guests with a behind-the-scenes look at areas of Hay House that are not accessible on the regular tour. Guests will have the opportunity to see the wine cellar, secret room, balcony, and attic. The spectacular 360-degree view of Macon from the widow’s walk is a must-see! This tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
There are many stairs in the house. Though the building is wheelchair accessible and has a small elevator, there are still many stairs involved on this tour. The house’s elevator only goes to the 3rd level. Behind-the-Scenes tours cover all seven levels, so dress comfortably!
Event ticket: $35 per person
Reservations with advanced payment are required. Registration is limited to 15 people maximum.

Experience Hay House after dark! Go behind the scenes at what Architectural Digest calls one of the “13 Most Beautiful Haunted Destinations Around the World.” Hear spine-tingling tales of unexplained noises, lights with a mind of their own, and real-life ghost sightings.
New this year!
Come a little early to enjoy a “spirit” (a complimentary glass of beer, wine or soda) and browse around the ground level of the house before the tour. Refreshments will be offered from 5:30-6:00 p.m. The tour will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. and typically lasts an hour and a half.
