Local Main Street
program managers, Regional Development
Center conservation planners and building
owners can contact the Main Street Design
Assistance manager for on- or off-site
technical support covering preservation
issues and design alternatives.
For a
modest fee, recommendations can be
prepared in the form of conceptual
renderings and site plans.
Seminars, workshops, slide presentations
and other events are also occasionally
coordinated through the Main Street Design
Assistance program in order to inform Main
Street program directors, design
committees, building owners, merchants and
the general public about proper downtown
design, historic preservation and building
rehabilitation and maintenance.
The Main
Street Design Assistance Program is a much
utilized service that has become integral
to downtown revitalization efforts. Design
assistance, in the form of on-site
consultations and drawings, has now been
provided to more than 2,000 buildings in
Georgia's 46 Main Street cities and many
others.
