Georgia Trust Sets Annual Preservation Ball
for Saturday, Feb. 2, at Atlanta History Center

ATLANTA, Dec. 27, 2007—The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation will host its 24th annual Preservation Ball inside the Grand Overlook Ballroom at the Atlanta History Center on Saturday, February 2, 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Tickets are $200 per person for the “Big Band Blowout” themed fund raiser honoring President and CEO Greg Paxton’s 27 years with the organization. Tickets can be purchased by calling 404-885-7805. All proceeds benefit The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.
This year’s chairs are Amy and Allen Nelson. Honorary chairs are Mary and Billy Warren. Past chairs have included Sissy and David Perdue, Dean DuBose Smith and Willem and Merrel Hattnik.

The black-tie event will feature cocktails, lively entertainment from the Atlanta Swing Orchestra, gaming tables, dancing and fine cuisine from Atlanta’s top caterers while an expected 400 patrons roll the dice for preservation.

“The Preservation Ball is our best and most enjoyable fund raiser of the year,” said Greg Paxton, president and CEO of The Georgia Trust. “This year’s Ball will expand on that tradition.”

Sponsors for this year’s Preservation Ball include SunTrust, Morgan Keegan, Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, Lanier Parking Systems and Merrill Lynch.

The Trust’s first Preservation Ball was held in 1983. Since then it has been staged at several different venues, including the Georgia State Capitol, the Georgian Terrace Hotel and the Biltmore Ballrooms.
