The Georgia Trust

ELIZABETH LYON FELLOWSHIP

The Elizabeth Lyon Fund was established in 1994 in honor of Elizabeth “Liz” Lyon, who served as director of the Historic Preservation Division of DNR from 1976 to 1994 and served as Georgia State Historic Preservation Officer. The goal of the fund is to provide financial assistance for projects that acquaint undergraduate and graduate students and young professionals with preservation programs and practices.

With support from the Elizabeth Lyon Fund and through a partnership between The Georgia Trust and Historic Preservation Division, this fellowship will connect graduate research with the preservation of historic properties, contribute significantly to the scholarship of historic preservation in general and in Georgia, and inspire preservation goals within communities throughout the Fellow's professional career.
