Georgia Trust for Announces Uptown Rhodes Race T-shirt Design Contest

ATLANTA, June 10, 2011—The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation announces a T-shirt design contest for its 3rd annual Uptown Rhodes Race 5K to be held this fall.  The winning design will be featured on all promotional material for the event and t-shirts given to participants after the race.  The contest seeks designs that incorporate the family and dog-friendly atmosphere of the race, which will take place this fall on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Rhodes Hall, Atlanta’s “Castle on Peachtree.”

Submitted T-shirt designs must include the following:
1. Be created in four-color (CMYK) high resolution format
2. Be 20 inches wide by 20 inches in height
3. Incorporate the family and dog-friendly atmosphere of the race
4. The artist/designer may choose to incorporate the following text or omit it with the understanding that the t-shirt design committee (in consultation with the artist) will add text into or around the winning entry for the purposes of the T-shirt.

Designs should be submitted in a PDF format by Friday, July 15 to specialevents@georgiatrust.org. Include your name, address with zip code, email address, and phone number.

The winning entry will be announced on July 22.  The top three designs will receive $150, $50 and $25.

About the Uptown Rhodes Race
Since 2009, the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and presenting sponsor Dewberry Foundation have hosted an annual 5K run/walk race to benefit the Trust.  Traditionally held in the spring, this year’s event will be held this fall on Saturday, Nov. 12.  The event is family and pet-friendly and open to the general public.  Interested runners and walkers can register at www.active.com.
