The 2007 Preservation Classic, held on November 5 at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, was a huge success!
The day included a full round of golf, an on-course lunch and refreshments plus a cocktail buffet at the awards reception following the tournament. The field was limited to 120 players.
Special thanks to all who turned out for a terrific day of golf to support The Georgia Trust's mission to reclaim, restore and revitalize the state's historic resources.
About the Preservation Classic
Each Fall, golfers tee up at one of Atlanta’s premiere golf clubs for the Preservation Classic. A field of 120 golfers, playing in foursomes, compete in a four-man Best Ball tournament format. An awards presentation, cocktail buffet and raffle follow the competition on the links. Awards include Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Hole-In-One, Low Net Team, and Low Gross Team.
The Preservation Classic was first held in 1995. Past honorary chairs include Jim Kennedy of Cox Enterprises, Inc.; Bertis Downs, general counsel for the band R.E.M.; and Mike Mills, bassist for R.E.M.
