Danburg and Environs Ramble
Wander through the hamlet of Danburg in North Wilkes County, visiting beautiful antebellum and Victorian homes and sites in a rural setting.

6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Cocktails & Dinner at Peacewood Plantation
Dine under the stars on the grounds of lovely Peacewood Plantation. This home began in the 1790’s as the Wingfield home, a simple Federal Plantation Plain house. After its purchase by Jesse Callaway in the 1830’s, the house was enlarged and updated with Greek Revival features such as the large portico on the south façade. Tours of the home will be offered.

After Dinner Event: Retro Cinema
The night is still young! Mingle at the theater’s Wine Bar, browse their bookstore, and enjoy a film in this recently renovated theater. Cash bar. In recognition of the visionary work of The Georgia Trust, Retro Cinema is proud to present an award winning documentary "The Cotton Kings," which profiles the history behind some of the South's greatest homes. Included in the documentary will be a rare and special tour of Atlanta's opulent "Swan House."

In late 1827, nine members of Phillips Mill Baptist Church met with the Rev. Jesse Mercer to establish a church for Washington. The first church building was erected shortly thereafter. The present building, built in 1884, has grown over the years with the congregation and its programs.

After a continental breakfast and an introduction to Washington’s history, explore a full roster of historic homes and local places of interest.

First United Methodist Church
100 West Liberty Street
The Methodists built the first church in Washington in 1821 near the site of present Masonic Hall. That building was replaced in 1882 by the brick structure that is now used by the Masons; the old building became Floyd’s Opera House. The present building was completed in 1910 and has been enlarged with several additions.
