HAY HOUSE RESTORATION - INTERIOR & EXTERIOR RESTORATION

Interior Restoration
The "Four Seasons of the Vineyard" stained glass window, which is the focal point of the dining room, will be undergoing restoration work later this year. The Georgia Trust is currently researching restoration for the painted glass in the stairway between the main level and the bedroom level and two stained glass pieces over cabinets in the dining room.

Work is underway to finish restoration of the main level reception room, with a completion date in early December. Handmade wallpaper is being recreated for panels in those rooms, and the furniture will also be restored.

Exterior Restoration
Hay House’s exterior decorative finishes have been completely restored as well, including recent repairs to the structure’s plaster, wood and metal. Contractor Chris R. Sheridan & Company repaired exterior wood and metal during the spring of 2005. A painting subcontractor is now painting those exterior surfaces and will also be handling the plaster repairs.
Chris R. Sheridan & Co. carpenters Preston Johnson and Bobby Turner replace rotted wood on the exterior trim of Hay House.
