As a museum, Hay House shares with its visitors the philosophy of historic preservation and introduces them to preservation methods and technology. Hay House has become a center for educational, civic and cultural events.
Guided tours teach visitors about the national significance of the architecture, its technological advances and its artistic sophistication. Guests also hear a rich social history: the Johnstons, Feltons and Hays were all historically significant families, adapting the house to their own lifestyles. Each year, more than 30,000 visitors enjoy the house's decorative arts collection, stained-glass windows and handsome cabinetry.
